Sandra Demberger re-joined the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary this spring as a summer science intern to help with any and all science and outreach initiatives.
Demberger first came to PDE in 2016 until heading to Villanova Univeristy in 2018 to earn her master’s degree in Environmental Science. Her thesis work is titled “Quantifying and valuing carbon and nitrogen sequestration across nine salt marshes along the East Coast.”
Demberger has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and a minor in wildlife conservation from the University of Delaware. At the university, she completed undergraduate research involving runoff nitrogen pollution into the Chesapeake Bay and Delaware Estuary and completed a summer internship with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control’s Division of Watershed Stewardship.
Demberger is excited to be back on board with PDE for the summer. She lives in Ardmore, Pennsylvania where she spends a great deal of time hiking and traveling.
