Corporate Environmental Stewardship Program

The Corporate Environmental Stewardship Program (CESP) provides businesses in the Delaware Estuary with an opportunity to take a leadership role in preserving their community’s environmental well-being. Through CESP, corporations quickly discover that ecological enhancement and economic savings are not mutually exclusive.

CESP provides corporations with technical expertise to help them better manage and enhance their lands through the use of native species and the restoration of natural habitat. The scope of this program, however, is not limited to land management. Members also use CESP to help them organize conservation-related events and activities that build good will among members of the community. These projects not only improve the environmental health of the Delaware Estuary, but they also increase employee morale and reduce maintenance costs at participating properties. Members of CESP also benefit from an annual “eco-excursion” to a nature-based tourism destination in the Delaware Estuary. This event gives participants an opportunity to leave the office behind, network with others, and take pleasure in the natural resources they are working to protect.
