What’s Your Summer Story?
Participate in our short essay contest now through June 28, 2019
Summer is for getting outside and enjoying nature. Do you have a favorite summer destination that’s within the Delaware Estuary? Do you like to swim, fish, hike, bike, camp, kayak or just hang out? Why is this place so special to you? Is this someplace you go annually, or do you have a memory of a single visit? What’s your story?
The Partnership for the Delaware Estuary invites you to participate in its short essay contest. Submit an original short essay about your favorite summer destination and activity within the Delaware Estuary. This can either be about a place you visit frequently, or about a memory of a particular visit. Why is, or was, this place so special to you?
Essays should be no more than 175 words. They must include a location that’s within the Delaware Estuary Focus Area (see map for guidance here) and an original photo from your trip (older photos can be scanned an e-mailed). Photos should be in JPG format, at least 300 dpi.
We’ll choose first, second and third place essays. If your essay is chosen, we’ll print it, and your photo, in the Summer 2019 issue of Estuary News. You could also score some sweet PDE swag!
Send your essay, photo and contact information to Kate Layton via email to: email@example.com
