2008 Watershed Workshop for Teachers

The Bucks County Conservation District, Partnership for the Delaware Estuary and Pennsylvania DCNR's Bureau of State Parks invite you to attend a week-long summer workshop to explore the Delaware River Watershed.  Through a mixture of classroom and field experiences, you will have an opportunity to learn the differences between urban and rural watersheds and compare the upper portions of the Delaware River with the mouth of Delaware Bay.  You will also gain hands-on experience when you:

  • identify macroinvertebrates
  • implement "best management practices" to stem pollution
  • perform water-chemistry tests
  • sample fish populations
  • study wetland functions
  • take part in various other environmental activities

For more information on this event, which is affiliated with the Watershed Education program, please contact Cheryl Jackson at (800) 445-4935, extension 112, or CJackson@ DelawareEstuary.org. Otherwise, please register before attending a brief orientation on July 16 and a Watersheds 101 class on July 17. See you then!
