Materials for Classrooms

One Whale of a Reference for Teachers

The Delaware Estuary, or the tidal portion of the Delaware River, is the most-valuable natural resource in our region, yet little is taught about it in our schools. For this reason, the Philadelphia Water Department and the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary have published a reference tool for educators entitled the 2006 Delaware Estuary Water Education Resource Guide (4.52 MB PDF file). In it, teachers can find information regarding the materials and programs available to them from the many non-profit organizations and government agencies located throughout the tri-state area. Its 107 pages are filled with a wealth of environmental wisdom worthy of any lecture or field trip. To be included in future editions, receive a hard copy, or for additional information, please contact Dee Ross at (800) 445-4935, extension 106. A wide variety of classroom materials can also be found on our "Publications" Web page, where we have everything from posters to videos.

Please click here to view online links for the organizations included in the resource above.
