Activity Report

Dear Friend,

2007 was a year of new beginnings for the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary. It marked the beginning of the organization's second decade of leading collaborative efforts to protect and enhance the Delaware Estuary for current and future generations. After more than a year of planning, the Partnership completed its first formal Strategic Plan in 2007, charting the course for the better part of this new decade. This year also marked the end of an era of extraordinary leadership by Kathy Klein, our former executive director, and the beginning of a thrilling new era for both me and the organization as I take the helm as the new executive director.

But I think the true hallmark of the Partnership's success in 2007 has been the sheer number of people whose lives we touched with messages about protecting and enhancing the Estuary. Across all of our programs, from January to December, we engaged partners old and new to spread awareness, appreciation, and scientific understanding of the Delaware Estuary, its vast resources, and how we can play a role in their protection. Because of these efforts by the Partnership, tens of thousands of people are newly armed with information and inspiration for joining us in the protection and celebration of the incredible natural, cultural, and economic resources that make up the Delaware Estuary.

Here in our 2007 Activity Report, you will find a brief sampling of those activities and a summary

of the many partners — public, corporate, and individual — who we have to thank for making them possible. This activity report is dedicated to those partners and especially Kathy Klein, whom we now count among them, for nurturing this organization into what it is today.

Sincerely,
Jennifer A. Adkins
Executive Director
