Philadelphia Art Contest
The Partnership for the Delaware Estuary is now accepting entries on behalf of the Philadelphia Water Department for its Green City, Clean Waters Art Contest. The deadline for entries has passed, and this contest is closed. Please click here for a brochure containing rules and an entry form (PDF file).
Philadelphia students in grades K-12 attending public, private, charter or home school in Philadelphia can participate in this year’s Green City, Clean Waters Art Contest. All they need to do is create an original drawing that shows how we all can keep Philly’s Water clean! Examples can be found in the Green City, Clean Waters Plan, Storm Drain Marking Program, and our fact sheets.
The four first-place drawings, one each age category (K-2, 3-5, 6-8 & 9-12), will be transformed into street art stickers and installed on Philly streets. The top three drawings from each age category will be included in an annual calendar sent to all participants and featured online. Drawings will be featured in a SEPTA advertising campaign and a free calendar next spring. We will also post them to websites hosted by the contest’s sponsors, Facebook, Flickr, and YouTube.
Other prizes to be awarded at a ceremony this spring include:
- gift cards up to $100 in value for students and $50 for teachers
- $100 gift cards for the first three schools or organizations to submit over 100 entries
- framed certificates
- a contest calendar available for free inside the Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center
