Donald E. (Gus) Wolfe was hired in October of 2008 as the first-ever director of finance and operations at the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary, a National Estuary Program. In this role, he is responsible for accounting and grant reporting at the tri-state nonprofit, as well as office and employee benefit administration.
Wolfe has over 30 years of experience working for private and government organizations. Before coming to the PDE, he was controller for a local architecture firm. He has also held several accounting and management positions at the Delaware River and Bay Authority during his career.
Wolfe received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Delaware in 1976 and 1986 respectively. Today he and his wife live in Newark, Delaware, near his alma mater. In his free time he serves as a swim coach, a role that currently has him coaching athletes who are vying to compete in the Delaware Senior Olympics.
