Sari Rothrock is a science and policy fellow at the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary. In this role, Rothrock researches different ways people can adapt to flooding, sea-level rise and severe weather. She also informs local, state, and federal decision makers about new developments in the Delaware Estuary’s watershed.
Rothrock earned a master in city planning degree in June 2010 from the Massachu-setts Institute of Technology. There she focused her studies on addressing regional environmental challenges and designing safer cities. Her research took her to Lowell, Massachusetts, New York and Bangkok. Previous to this she earned a B.S. in geography and a B.A. in philosophy from Penn State University. During her time at PSU, Rothrock studied environmental justice in South Africa and wrote an honors thesis on conflicts arising from land use, especially urban sprawl.
Rothrock lives in West Chester, Pennsylvania and enjoys reading, baking (especially cookies and cupcakes), and visiting the Jersey shore.
