Elizabeth Horsey was hired by the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary in early 2008 as the first development specialist on staff at the tri-state National Estuary Program. Her chief responsibilities are to assist the nonprofit’s development director with benefit planning, fundraising research, and grant writing.
Previously, Horsey worked as a technical writing editor for three years, during which she prepared manuals for the chemical industry on topics such as safety, health and environmental standards.
Horsey earned her bachelor of arts degree in 2004 from the University of Delaware, where she majored in English and minored in both history and Spanish. During her days in Newark, she also studied abroad in the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador — a nation that also contains an estuary. Nowadays, Horsey lives in Dover and enjoys athletics, traveling, and spending time at the beach.
