Priscilla Cole became the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary's (PDE) data and information specialist in August of 2010. Cole first came to the PDE in May of 2007 as an intern and later transitioned to become a graduate assistant and then a science and policy fellow. Her previous projects include the Climate Ready Estuaries Pilot and the Information Gateway. Today, however, she is responsible for managing data gathered by the PDE, as well as facilitating the "State of the Estuary Report."
Previous to the PDE, Cole worked as an intern on the Water Resources Agency's State of the Basin Report. She also participated in a research project at the University of Delaware investigating “Integrated Policy and Planning for Water and Energy” for the State of Delaware. In Seattle she spent a year in the Lutheran Volunteer Corps working for the environmental activist group Heart of America Northwest. And as an undergrad student, Cole worked for three years in the Oakes Museum of Natural History as a tour guide, assistant curator, and manager of volunteer docents.
Cole earned her master’s degree in 2009 after studying at the University of Delaware's Center for Energy and Environmental Policy. She earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Messiah College, where she also studied abroad for two semesters in New Zealand and Thailand. To date she has tallied five continents and 39 states in her world travels.
Originally from Hicksville — yes, Hicksville — Ohio, Cole now lives in Philadelphia where she is very active in the city's swing dance scene.
